GILBERTVILLE TOUR Sadly the Gilbertville Tour is now over but it has proved to have been Gilbert's most successful tour to date. The audiences, the reviews and the feedback have been fantastic. The queues of fans waiting to meet Gilbert after the shows are getting longer and longer and everybody is amazed by Gilbert's energy and his wide range of material and by the professionalism and expert music ability of the band and the backing singers. Gilbert will now concentrate on writing new material for his next album but has confirmed that he will be appearing at the Hop Farm Music Festival in Kent on Sunday 1st July 2012.....see photos and set lists from the tour HERE. |

The latest information suggests
that the new album, Gilbertville will be released in Japan in October.
Gilbert is currently in negotiations with a record company with a view to
getting a European release for the album. Depending how negotiations go, the
European release may be in October or failing that early in the New Year.
Gilbert is frustrated by the delay in getting the album released but is acutely
aware that the right record deal could also see his back catalogue available for
download online. The live album recorded at the Olympia Theatre in Oct
2008 is still in the mixing stage. Once the mixing of the soundtrack is
completed it will be added to the concert footage and a DVD will be released.
Gilbert will be attending the Guth Gafa Documentary Festival in Gortahork,
County Donegal on the 12th June where he will take part in a Question And Answer
session after the screening of the documentary Out On His Own. To buy tickets,

THE LATE LATE SHOW -
27 FEB 2010 Gilbert
made a very popular and successful return to the RTE Television studios last
night for his appearance on The Late Late Show, hosted by Ryan Tubridy.
Gilbert was originally scheduled to sing two songs, one old and one new, but
such was the public reaction to news of his appearance, that the sheer volume of
telephone calls, texts and emails to the Late Late Show office resulted in host
Ryan Tubridy requesting that Gilbert sing a third song. Accompanied on guitar by
Jimmy Smyth, Gilbert sang All They Wanted To Say, a track fom his forthcoming
album and followed that with the two classics; Nothing Rhymed and Alone Again
(Naturally) and even managed to squeeze in a verse of Ooh Wakka Doo Wakka Day,
which the audience sang along to. Also appearing on the Late Late show
were Irish singer, Mary Coughlan and Scottish singer Eddi Reader. They
both stopped by Gilbert's dressing room to say hello. Mary is very
interested in recording one of Gilbert's songs; At The Very Mention Of Your
Name. To

ALBUM TITLE
- 17 FEB 2010 Gilbert
has decided not to call the new album "Mum's the Word" and is working
on an alternative title. The album won't be released before the Irish tour
dates which are at the end of March. At the moment there are no other
confirmed tour dates apart from the Irish dates.

USA DATES - 25 MARCH 2009 Still no news about any live U.S. dates but efforts are ongoing. As I've mentioned before, it is up to the promoters as to where and when Gilbert will play in the USA, but Gilbert is very keen for it to happen. Two dates have been pencilled in but not confirmed for Ireland in November: Killarney [Nov 6] and Castlebar [Nov 7].
